Spot fake honey

BUYING GUIDE & KNOWLEDGE

How to Spot Fake Honey

Many customers in Pakistan worry about fake or mixed honey. While home tests are not a replacement for proper lab testing, there are key indicators that can help you make a more informed and careful buying decision.

6 Key Signs to Consider

Practical tips before purchasing honey for your home:

1. Suspiciously Low Prices

Pure honey requires careful sourcing, handling, and packing. If the price looks unusually cheap compared to the market, it is worth asking questions.

2. Check the Ingredient List

Look for simple, unambiguous labeling like "100% Raw Honey". Avoid products with vague or unclear ingredient details.

3. Brand Information & Labels

A trustworthy brand clearly provides contact details, brand name, net weight, address, and storage instructions on the jar.

4. Taste, Aroma & Texture

Natural honey varies by flower source: Acacia is light & mild, Ajwain has a warm aroma, while Beri is richer and thicker. Variation is natural!

5. Crystallization is Normal

Some raw honeys naturally crystallize over time depending on temperature and floral glucose levels. It does not automatically mean it is fake or spoiled.

6. Sourcing & Batch Details

A credible brand should transparently answer basic questions regarding product origin, harvest type, and packaging procedures.

LAB VERIFICATION

Important Note on Testing

Home tests can often be misleading. The most reliable and scientifically sound way to confirm honey purity is through proper laboratory testing.

At Naab, we are actively developing a batch verification and lab report system so customers can easily verify product purity details in the future.
